Bio





Tiffany Ours began piano lessons at the age of fourteen. She progressed rapidly, earning high ratings at Guild, Federation, and MTA events. Upon graduating from high school, she was accepted to the Petrie School of Music of Converse College, an All-Steinway School and given a top music and academic scholarship. She studied with Dr. Douglas Weeks, Babcock professor of piano, Steinway Artist, and Director of the piano program at Brevard Music School. She graduated magna cum laude in 2008 with a double major in music and Spanish. In January 2011, she received her Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix.

From 2008 to 2011, she taught elementary music at Byne Christian School in Albany, Georgia in addition to third grade, elementary Spanish, computer, and art,.  Her responsibilities there included planning and directing a bi-yearly music and drama program. In addition, she has been the church pianist for Bronwood Baptist Church (Bronwood, GA) and Byne Memorial Baptist Church (Albany, GA), where in addition to playing for the services, she accompanied the choir and vocal ensemble and performed with the keyboard ensemble.She has also been the pianist for Arco Methodist Church (Brunswick, GA). Currently, she is the music director at Frederica Presbyterian Church (SSI, GA). She also teaches at Heritage Christian Academy in Brunswick, GA, teaches private piano lessons, and teaches piano at Jamestown Piano Shop. Her most recent performances have included appearances at the Mozart Society of St. Simons Island, GA, First Baptist Church in Cochran, GA, and Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany, GA.

She is currently studying with Louise Barfield in Macon, Georgia, in preparation for entrance to graduate school in piano performance. Ms. Barfield, a concert pianist, is a Fulbright Scholar and received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied with Adele Marcus. Louise Barfield is the Founder and Director of Little Carnegie of the South, a non-profit concert hall and art gallery in Macon, Georgia.
